Are you still on Facebook? Make it work for the restoration of the American chestnut. Facebook provides a platform for individuals to create their own fundraiser for their favorite causes. Facebook does not charge fees on fundraisers for nonprofits and all you have to do is follow this link to their simple instructions. These fundraisers do count on you sharing your fundraiser with friends on Facebook but it could be worth a try. One member created a Facebook fundraiser for her birthday last year and raised $200 for our chapter.
Donations of Crafts to Sell
Outreach events have few are far between during COVID but we are hoping that 2022 will see us out and about once again. At many events we offer donated hand-crafted items like hand-turned chestnut bowls and wooden spoons. Proceeds from all these products go to the PA/NJ Chapter. Local Artisan, Kimberly Helder, of Helders Design is putting her talent to work to support the restoration efforts PA-TACF. Using twigs from Pure American chestnut twigs collected by Steve Hoy at our research orchards at Penn State, she is making American chestnut earrings. For every pair, she sells she has agreed to give $5 to our Chapter. Learn more…
