11th Annual West Virginia Chestnut Festival
Join us for this West Virginia Chapter event to get to know our TACF neighbors in the South and celebrate the American chestnut. We hope to see you there!

12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. — Activities @ Scenic Rowlesburg Park; Sample roasted chestnuts; browse crafts made from wormy chestnut –Enjoy Ox Roast sandwiches; purchase Chestnut saplings: and meet Chestnut researchers
10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — Activities @ Szilagyi Creative Arts Center (Free and Open to the Public); Attractions include the acclaimed WW II Museum; Historic Centenary B & O Railroad Bridges Exhibit; Emporium; Sports Museum.
Noon to 2:00 p.m. — Meeting of the W.V. Chapter of TACF @ Szilagyi Creative Arts Center
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. — Chestnut Scientific Program @ Szilagyi Creative Arts Center Hosted by WVU research associate, Mark Double, with Dr. Joseph Nassif.
Dr. Jeffrey Skousen is a Professor of Soil Science in the Division of Plant and Soil Sciences (Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design); who also serves as the Extension Land Reclamation Specialist in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Unit of the West Virginia University Extension Service.
Amy Metheny is a graduate student at West Virginia University in the Division of Division of Plant and Soil Science.
