Outreach Events

Here is a list of some of the outreach events we plan to attend this year with the help of volunteers. If you are interested in helping us to share the story of the American chestnut at one or more of these events please let us know. We would welcome your help.

April 28 — Lancaster Native Plant and Wildlife Festival, Manheim Township, PA

April 28 — Collingswood Green Festival, Collingswood, PA

May 5 — Central PA Native Plant Festival, Boalsburg, PA

June 10 — P.A. Trappers Rendezvous  will be hosting the 2018 State Rendezvous, Port Royal, PA

July 28-29 — PCO Farm Fest, Centre Hall, PA

August 4-5 — Festival of Wood at Grey Towers, Milford PA

August 14-16 — Penn State Ag Progress Days, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA

September 8-9 — New Jersey Wild Outdoor Expo, New Egypt, NJ

October 7— West Virginia Chestnut Festival, Rowlesburg, WV

October 13 — West Milford Autumn Lights Festival, West Milford, NJ

We are seeking suggestions of potential groups, organizations, and events that we can target for our 2018 outreach. Examples: Sports or Garden Clubs, educational or professional conferences, or Arboretums or other Conservation organizations

April 14 — Spring Growers Meeting, Mont Alto Campus of Penn State, Mont Alto, PA

October 7 — 2018 WV Chestnut Festival Join us in Rowlesburg, WV.

October 27th and 28th — TACF Annual Meeting, Huntsville, Alabama

Attending these events is a great way to meet other folks who share your interest in the American chestnut. Share your experiences and get more involved at these member events.
