NJ Volunteers at Burlington Co. Earth Fair

Many thanks to Tony Rosati and Clark Beebe for continuing our participation in the Burlington County Earth Fair this past June. This annual event in New Jersey is a celebration of environmental education and community engagement. For several years now, Clark, Tony, and others have given generously of their time to share their passion for our restoration mission at this event. When asked what they like about it, they say that they enjoy this opportunity to speak to folks of all ages while enjoying a day at the historic Smithville Park in Eastampton, NJ.

In addition to playing the role of our very own “Jimmy Olson” recording the day in photos, Tony Rosati, who is also one of our active member growers provided replacement seedlings for the Burlington County Parks, Ceremonial planting of American chestnuts. Jennifer Bulava, Lead Park Naturalist for the Burlington County Parks System was happy to accept these replacement seedlings from Tony and will oversee their planting. Many thanks to Jennifer and her staff for there efforts to establish and maintain the Ceremonial planting in Burlington County. You can see photos of the existing planting in the slideshow above.

Lastly, I want to thank Clark Beebe once again for all his volunteer efforts. A Board member and active volunteer for many years, Clark is stepping down as Past President this fall as he heads West to spend more time with grandchildren. We don’t expect to replace Clark and all his volunteer contributions with one volunteer but we do hope that some New Jersey members will step forward to help with events like this Earth Fair that Clark frequently covered.
