  • Central PA Native Plant Festival and Sale

    Description:

    Celebrate the arrival of spring, the return of wildflowers, and the beginning of another gardening season at the Central Pa Native Plant Festival and Sale. Come on out for a hike, a picnic…and enjoy one of the educational walks on native plant gardening. In addition to expert speakers, we’ll have native plants for sale; local seasonal prepared foods; and educational resource tables where you can have native plant and gardening questions answered. Admission is free but please come prepared to support our vendors through purchases of plants and/or food.

    Description:

    Burlington County's Annual Earth Fair returns each year to Historic Smithville Park featuring vendors, entertainment for all ages, and kids’ activities with an environmental twist. This family event focuses on ways to protect and enjoy our environment. Children's activities will include trash sculpting, paper making, storytelling, environmental vaudeville, face painting…and more. Be sure to check out the art exhibits in the Worker’s House & Gallery and the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery. There will be “Green” vendors, artists, crafters, activity providers and performers that have an earth-friendly theme.

  • Festival of Wood - Grey Towers

    Description:

    Help represent our Chapter at this two-day family event focused on environmental education at historic Grey Towers -- the summer retreat of Gifford Pinchot, two-time Governor and the first Chief of the US Forest Service.

    Volunteer for a couple of hours to share your knowledge and interest in the American chestnut. Our display provides a helpful visual aid for sharing the whole story including its: life, death, and birth. We will also provide volunteers with educational handouts, membership information and pencils, and stickers for the kids.?

    Description:

    The New Jersey WILD Outdoor Expo celebrates the state's bountiful natural resources and rich outdoor heritage. The event is held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily the weekend after Labor Day each year at the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area in Jackson Township, Ocean County. Admission is free as are most activities. Some activities are available for a minimum charge. The event takes place rain or shine.
