    Join the PA/NJ Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation(TACF) for our first Annual Chestnut Tailgate. We will be sharing the story of the American chestnut in the thick of lion country surrounding Beaver Stadium.

    Staff and volunteers will be demonstrating chestnut shucking and roasting techniques, along with information about our restoration work.

  • Forest Landowners Conference

    The Forest Landowners Conference is the region’s foremost gathering of woodland owners, forest practitioners, forest businesses, and others interested in woodlands and the wildlife that use them. Nearly 740,000 owners care for Pennsylvania’s 11.5 million acres of privately-owned woods. 

    The PA/NJ Chapter will be tabling at this event and we encourage members to attend.

    There will be educational presentations and opportunities to connect with experienced woodland professionals. The Friday afternoon keynote will be given by Chris Bolgiano, Mildly Amusing Nature Writer -- you may recognize her name as one of the editors of the book "Mighty Giants: An American Chestnut Anthology".

  • Festival of Wood - Grey Towers

    Help represent our Chapter at this two-day family event focused on environmental education at historic Grey Towers -- the summer retreat of Gifford Pinchot, two-time Governor and the first Chief of the US Forest Service.

    Volunteer for a couple hours to share your knowledge and interest in the American chestnut. Our display provides a helpful visual aid for sharing the whole story including its: life, death, and birth. We will also provide volunteers with educational handouts, membership information and pencils and stickers for the kids.?
