2020 Communications Survey
For the past 25 years, we have been sending a print newsletter, The Chestnut Tree, to members and supporters each Spring and Fall. These newsletters contain Chapter news about members and events, updates on research, and other related articles. It’s been a valuable tool for keeping members informed and we have also distributed extra copies at outreach events around the state to engage the public.
Since founding member, Ann Leffel edited the first newsletter in 1995, we have added a number of other communication tools including a PA Chapter listserv, a Facebook page, and a group. We have even dipped our toes in Instagram and Twitter. At the end of 2018, we started sending out a monthly e-Newsletter similar to the TACF’s e-Sprout but focused on information for the PA/NJ Chapter. All of these modes of communication are useful and reach different segments of our membership.
In consideration of our limited resources and the potential to save on mailing costs, we will be evaluating all of our current communication practices, starting with a review of our print newsletter and e-Newsletter.
Member Input: You can help by providing feedback. We have set up an online poll on our website with 7 short questions. It shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to complete.
